How many times am I going to be ill?! Since giving birth (4 months ago) I've had infective mastitis, a bladder infection, blood poisoning, a op to redo my perineal area and now I have tonsillitis. FFS!!!!

OOH doc has given me antibiotics. That'll be the ninth different antibiotic in 4 months.

Stargirl that sounds rotten, you must be really run down.

Is there anything you can do to boost your immune system?

stargirl1701 · 21/01/2013 20:37

I'm taking Pregnacare Post Natal vitamins and probiotic capsules. Not sure what else would help.

My sympathies - I am similarly prone to things after birth - am currently on my third lot of antibiotics, and now booked in for US to look for 'possible infected pockets of fluid'. Hope you feel better soon. is it your first DC?

stargirl1701 · 21/01/2013 22:36

Oh Haggis, that doesn't sound pleasant! Yup, first dc. She is gorgeous Grin

Congratulations! it will all pass, and you'll feel better eventually, but it seems to take forever when you're going through it. I felt almost normal by 6 months - it's better more quickly the second time round, I've found. Doesn't sound pleasant at all - we'll see what the scan shows!
