Would really like some opinions as I don't know if I'm worrying about nothing or not. Could be a little TMI in some places - sorry!
I saw my doctor in 2008 as my periods suddenly got really heavy. She gave me a quick examination and said it was probably just one of those things and prescribed me tranexamic acid. I was only able to take half the prescribed dose but it helped a little. I still regularly had big clots. I took the tranexamic acid up until the beginning of 2012 when I noticed my periods were a little lighter. I suppose they would still have been more than average but it was manageable.
About 5 months ago I had severe pain on my right side just after my period (day 8), I noticed some bleeding (bright red blood) too which lasted a couple of days. The pain lasted for 2 weeks and I was taking pain killers every day. The following months have followed a similar pattern with the pain decreasing slightly - second month was about a week and then it's been about 3 or 4 days. The pain seems to feel different each time although it always seems to be my right ovary that is affected and hardly the left. The pain also seems to be in my uterus, it feels irritated and there are times when it feels like someone is sticking pins in it.
Anyway I'm currently on day 11 and began spotting with pain on day 8 (still on going but nearly over I think). I've also felt really faint the last few days, not sure if this has anything to do with it. My usual cycle is 28 - 30 days and my last period was a heavy one not like the lighter ones I had for a few months.
I've looked on Google (I know I shouldn't!!) and now I spend one minute thinking it's nothing probably just weird ovulation and the next I'm in a panic that it's something serious. I'm going to make an appointment to see a gynecologist but would like to know if anyone has had anything similar?
