Hi, I always get great information on here so Im back. I've been feeling great for a while on 100mg of Thyroxine then all of a sudden i start feeling ill again just before christmas, want to sleep all day, have the "hangover" feeling back. So eventually get a blood test done and my levels have just come back normal says the receptionist.

My levels two months ago were T4 14 TSH 5.3 now they are T4 15.7 and TSH 4.7.Obv they arent normal and i have requested a chat with my Dr on monday. What does this mean??? the TSH levels are gng down but the T4 is gng up!!! Can someone explain? Should i carry on as usual or ask to be referred?? Thanks! :)

You want your TSH to be coming down to around 1 and your FT4 to be rising until it is in the top third of the lab range, so you are going in the right direction, but it sounds like you have settled on your current dose and need an increase.

Your current levels are not 'normal' they are 'within range' which is different.

Hopefully the doc will be amenable to an increase - if he isn't then yes, ask for a referral.

Owzat?
