My DS 6 mo old, has had D & V since Friday night. Eventually by Sun am took him to the hospital, doc says just tummy bug. To stay off food for 24hrs. We tried milk again yesterday am, but vomited, so back to clear fluids. This morning 48hrs later we tried milk again and he vomited a very small amount? Do I keep trying with the food now or back to nothing? Very worried as he's so hungry and it's been 2 full days now! Any suggestions?

It's been a while as my son is now nearly 12, but I seem to remember the intolerance going on for quite a time - possibly 10 days or so. Wewould try him on milk as he seemed completely better, and he would be sick again. I also remember that post tummy bug diahhorea could go on for quite some time too.As long as he was thriving and not losing weight my GP used to tell me not to worry - hard for a new mum to do! He liked the soya milk and thrived on it - he'd never drink water or juice at 6 months, so we tended to finish the tin before getting him back onto cows milk formula. Wefelt it best not to keep changing his diet and I felt better that he was getting his nutrition with the soya and putting back on the weight he'd lost with the tummy bug.
I hope this helps and he's fully better soon.
