My 19 mo has a bad cough. We've tried to get some cough syrup into him using a syringe. It was a epic battle and he only ended up swallowing about a fourth of the dose. The rest he spit out and then had an epic coughing fit. Any tips that might help? He refuses to let us spoon anything into his mouth. Thank.

I used to mix with some ribena / small amount of yoghurt etc...
Is it chesty cough medicine or dry cough?
It's just that expectorants, for chesty coughs don't necessarily do a lot and steam will loosen phlegm just as well.

You could try putting medicine in the fridge. It takes the taste away a bit. I was advised to do this when I had problems getting my DC to take calpol and ibuprofen to bring down a temperature.
