Vertigo - anyone else?

I've had vertigo a couple of times, nothing for the last 4 months or so.

It's just come back - with a vengeance Confused

I feel sick, can't look at the tv, can't move my head, can't lie down on my back or my side as the room spins. When I'm standing up it feels like everything is angled to the left.

I'm sat up in the armchair with my duvet and a v-pillow.

Why has this come back so suddenly?

I have stemetil to take when it gets bad, but I'm taking a new migraine medication and I'm not sure if I can take the stemetil with it, so will have to wait until the morning to check with the pharmacist.

Here's to a sleepless night Hmm

Poor you, vertigo is horrible. I have Menieres....an inner ear problem which causes it along with hearing difficulties and tinnitus. Have you seen a doctor?

QueenOfCats · 02/01/2013 13:55

I have previously yes. They diagnosed BPV and did the epley manouvere. That didn't help at all.

Funnily enough it seems much better today! It's still there in the background, but I can do what I need to without feeling like I'm going to keel over.

You should be able to take stemetil. call the pharmacy they'll tell you for sure x.

I do sympathise. I have had a really rough 6 months but the vertigo has settled down for the most part. Dizziness/vertigo is so totally disabling as you cannot do anything. It is invisible to others, so very hard to explain. My lovely doctor calls it "disequilibrium". Just about covers it. Have faith that your balance mechanism will right itself in time. Hard to be patient, I know.

Currently suffering horribly here too..3 months and counting with no idea why.
I'm hoping it will eventually go away by itself. Hope yours passes quickly!

My mother had Vertigo, and she was prescribed antihistamine tablets, which she took every day, and helped.
