I've had excessive stomach bloating for about a week now. The last few days its been accompanied by "windy" type pains/feelings. I've had antacids and they are making me burp a lot but still having the bloatedness etc. It doesnt seem to matter about eating - its there all the time. I got up this morning and it seemed a little flatter but within 10 mins of being up (nothing to eat or drink) and it was like a medicine ball down there! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

See your GP and insist on your ovaries to be scanned.

Go to the GP's.

Without wishing to be alarmist I too second digerd's post.

As I said I don't wish to sound alarmist, I'm not a Medic of any sort so have no training.

Persistent bloating for no reason is a symtom of Ovarian cancer.

Chances are it isn't that but I've recently undergone a total Hysterectomy and feel that we should all be aware of every symtom of this bastard disease.

It's probably something food related but still go to your GP to check it out!

I didn't want to alarm you, but Ovarian Cancer is one of the worst to be diagnosed early. I know 2 woman who had it and survived, and both had swollen stomachs looking like 6 months pregnant. BUT it was FLUID not wind.
One did have pain in lower tummy but GP said it was only period pains. It is unusual, but in her case saved her life, to have pain as a warning. The other lady had none. But both did survive.

Better to have it ruled out, than not have it tested.

I have gallstones which make me really bloated. Definitely get checked at your GP
