oh yes

hope he gets better soon

Katymac · 16/04/2006 13:31

Thank Cod - It just seems such a "girl" thing to do

I didn't expect him to faint

I was so upset - he was bleeding everywhere and he nearly fell on top of DD

Oh yes, my family has low blood pressure and my dad fainted once when he got up for the loo in the night on holiday - strange furniture and he knocked himself out. DD2 has inherited it and used to nearly faint (turn green, sit down) at school in assemblies etc.

Hope the superglue does the trick!

He's feeling so sorry for himself

My dp has fainted like that when he has got up in the night for a wee. There is a name for it I can't remember it.Apparently if you suffer from this you should sit down to wee

noddyholder · 16/04/2006 14:00

It is called micturition

Katymac · 16/04/2006 14:03

Yes that's what the Dr said

OP posts:
Sparkerleur · 16/04/2006 14:05

My dh did this once - he also was on the loo!! Grin He took the door of the hinges and ended up in hospital with a break in his neck. Sad

noddyholder · 16/04/2006 14:17

It is to do with the blood heading south to deal with the wee reflex and so the blood pressure drops and not enough flow to the head It happened to dp quite recently very scary

pindy · 16/04/2006 14:56

Will you be putting that bit in your newspaper interview? Just a thought Wink

Gillian76 · 16/04/2006 15:11

I had trouble when I was pg and moved from sitting to standing/ lying down to getting up. Postural hypotension.

Hope your DH is OK.

binker · 16/04/2006 15:55

I sometimes faint - last time was when ds was having a blood test and I was so upset for him (they were unsuccessfully trying to get blood out of his arm) that I just passed out - they took my bp and said it was very low...had to wait for my dad to pick us up - how embarrassing - also upsetting for poor ds.

Sparkerleur · 16/04/2006 16:27

Katymac - How's your hubbie now? Bet his head is sore? Sad

Katymac · 16/04/2006 16:31

It hurts at the front (not at the back where he hit it)- he feels better but doesn't want to eat anything

You could see the skull - it was horrid

OP posts:
Sparkerleur · 16/04/2006 16:34

mmmmmm lovely! Smile Just pamper him a little but don't let him milk it! Grin

Miaou · 16/04/2006 17:03

oooh katymac, how awful! fwiw I have very low blood pressure and I have to be careful going from kneeling/sitting to standing or I go "black" (have never actually fainted though, just lost vision and sound for a couple of seconds!)

HenniPenni · 16/04/2006 17:06

Hope DH is ok Katy. My DD1 has blood pressure issues although I've not had to catch her yet!!

chapsmum · 16/04/2006 17:21
