I had DS in Aug 2010 - he was my first DC and since his birth (long, drawn out, vaginal and with bonus episiotomy) my pelvic floor muscles have been effectively wrecked. I brought it up with my GP at the time when DS was about 2 months old, that I was a bit concerned, stress incontinence etc, not much improvent sinxe his birth two.months previously etc but she was very curt and just kind of dismissive, saying that all women with kids experiencethis to a degree and to be very conscientious about doing my.pelvic floor exercises and things would improve. Well I did what she said and I also bought a digital pelvic floor exerciser and after about 6 months things did improve a bit. I still had to be very wary of sneezing hard with a full bladder and caitious about going to the loo often esp if drinking alcohol to avoid any err mshaps. Sex wise things are ok but there's been a def loss of sensation down there and I def can't do any ummm gripping if you know what I mean, but it still basically functions ok down there.
I had a mmc in the summer followed by erpc / d&c and I noticed that this seemed to have slightly exacerbated the problem again and I considered going back to GP but it takes so flipping long to get an appt and I've had so much on my plate last couple of.months that I've just been putting it off.
However now I am 8 weeks pg again and siffering pretty badly with sicknes, which is not improved by the fact that if I wretvh hard I have to be wary of leakage from weak pelvic floor down.below.
After 2.5 years I am thoroughly fed up!! If I persist and go back to GP with this, is thete anything that can be done while I'm pg or will it have to wait until baby is birn? Eill having another vaginal birth worsen things significantly? Would anyone who has been down this road say this is a valid reason for consideting an elective c section? Cant face the idea that I'm going to be worried about this for rest of my.life!!!
