Bleeding penis

NameChangeToProtectDH · 28/12/2012 09:38

Last night I gave DH oral sex and afterwards he was covered in blood as was I. TMI but I think the blood came after ejeculation. It was fresh blood.

I'm now worried sick (as is he) but he wont talk about it and I know he wont want to go to the Drs.

Any advice?

Oh gosh how frightening. I am sure I've heard of this and it was not sinister but don't rely on me, I can't remember now.

Penises do bleed an awful lot when they do.

I've had a look on health sites and it says could be a nick or could be underlying urethra problems. Will try to speak to DH about it later. I'm not shy about things like this at all but he is.....I'm also always off to the Dr so might be just overreacting.

Best to get it checked out.

NameChangeToProtectDH · 28/12/2012 11:20

He says he can't see anything. Will have to see if happens again. Told him definitely going to dr if does happen again.

What about NHS direct? Would he feel less embarrassed talking about it over the phone? Or perhaps you could make a GP appointment to talk about it and see if it's anything to worry about?

DontYouJingleMyChristingle · 28/12/2012 11:25

He could have torn his foreskin slightly.

Does he have any blood when he urinates?

qazxc · 28/12/2012 11:28

my boyfriend had a couple of bleeds after sex. he also was to embarrassed to go to GP. It resolved itself and talking to nurse mate of mine was probably a small tear in foreskin. Having seen it first hand it is quite scary because there is a lot of blood.

NameChangeToProtectDH · 28/12/2012 11:28

He says no blood when he urinates and can't see a nick. I think he must have caught it but it was pretty scary last night.

It's probably just a small cut but he should check to see where it is. If he can identify the cut and it's stopped bleeding then there's nothing to worry about.

And be careful with your teeth next time Wink

My dh had this, but the blood was mixed in with his, ahem, leavings. Is that what you mean? Turned out my dh had prostatitis caused by an infection. Gave him a fair bit of pain but only one bleeding episode. Doc advised it could return at any time but he recognises the feeling now and so can get antibiotics and anti inflammatories in good time.

NameChangeToProtectDH · 06/01/2013 08:22

Happened again last night except this was after plain old sex so no teeth involved this time.

I had a look but couldnt see anything.....really think DH should go to drs but he's just brushing it off - he even tried to blame me last night but I know it was his blood.

What is it with men and DRs!!!

Go to the GPs with him and talk about this together in front of that person.

This is not something that should be brushed aside by him, he is fearful and scared granted but the GP is the best person to see here. People do not die of embarrassment after all and the GP has seen plenty of body parts in his/her career.

Sometimes the foreskin is too tight to be retracted over the glans either because the foreskin is genuinely too tight (circumcision needed) or because of a small piece of skin connecting the inside of the foreskin to the base of the glans. Often this skin tears during a first sexual experience otherwise a minor operation can solve the problem without the need for full circumcision. I'm not a doctor, but have had this problem.

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 26/01/2013 22:09

DH had this once, we were (a lot) younger. He tore his foreskin when we were being over active!

He still went to the GP.
Your DH needs to go too. Why are men so weird when it comes to their bits and the doc!
