very recently I've started feeling bloated and constipated. I eat regularly, in fairness I don't eat fruit each day but do try and get veg in each dinner. I don't have stomach aches but I have had to book a doctor's appointment because the sides of my boobs hurt too. I just feel in the wars. Never been constipated before and I'm only 21. What is it? Er, could you be pregnant? Both symptoms of pregnancy.

If not I have no idea re boobs but perhaps you need to avoid certain foods that contribute to your being constipated. Drink lots and stay hydrated as that will help but you need to fo some experimenting to see what foods make you worse sms what situations may cause it to be worse.

I have had IBS in the past and stress made that worse but also some foods, veg included.

My advice would be speak to your GP but do a pregnancy test too!
Hope you get sorted.

I agree with McBobby - do a pregnancy test!

Try prune juice - it's not very nice though! Down a glass (half-pint) before your evening meal.
Also, munch on raisins or dried apricots throughout the day.

I'm on the pill. Will that make a difference to the test?

It won't affect the test. Although you are taking hormones that replicate pregnancy symptoms, the test will look at hcg levels produced when pregnant.

If you're not pregnant, it's worth seeig your GP anyway - your symptoms could be a sign of underlying health problems. Most likely culprit is IBS but its worth being checked out.

To help regulate your system as an IBS sufferer I reccomend a regular probiotic such as Yakult, plenty of fresh food, less sugar in your diet. Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids too.

Drink plenty. Makes all the difference if there is no other thing going on.
