pubic hair on a 6 month old

My 6 month old dd has very short (2mm ish) blonde hairs appearing on her outer labia where pubic hair would be. Not many but couldn't really describe them as downy. Should I be worried - precocious puberty etc - or is this normal???

No idea, but bumping for you.

I wouldn't be worried. dd had this when she was about that age (think when she started breast feeding less) and I've recently noticed (when I'm brave and certain that I'm not going to be peed on) that ds (7 months) has a smattering of really fine blonde hairs there (and he's really dark). I think dd's have gone. Don't see so much now as she's potty trained so no nappy fee time.
I remember being a bit disconcerted when dd got them, but apparently I did as did my brothers and no early puberty here.
HTH :)

Thank you both so much. I don't come on MN that often but it is such a comfort to know I can ask a question like that and there are other mums out there who will take the time to help Smile

No probs Surreymummy. I reckon that's the joy of mumsnet - reciprocality! (if there's such a word)
