hi. Entire family just had full on vomit/diarea whatsit, sweats/shivers, etc. That lasted a few days. Feeling a lot better, but never had stomach bugs really (very lucky) and I'm feeling wabbit. Does this lift quite fast? Ugh, it was horrid, but I could do with just getting back to normal now.

my dd aged 5 had it a few weeks ago. the sickness came and went quite quickly but she was weak for about 5 days after. hope you all get better soon

jinglebellyalltheway · 21/12/2012 13:07

The V&D and bone aches only lasted a couple of weeks, but the post viral run-down-ness lasted ages, a couple of weeks I think

jinglebellyalltheway · 21/12/2012 13:08

I mean the V&D and aches lasted a couple of DAYS, was the post viral stage that was the biggest pain and dragged on

nethunsreject · 21/12/2012 13:13

5 days, I can do that - weeks though?! Is that unusual?

I was back at work 48 hours after the V&D stopped, just felt very run down and tired for a couple of weeks afterwards.

nethunsreject · 21/12/2012 13:36

yeah, seems like quite a long while! I'm only on day 5 so guess I shouldn't grumble Wink

Think the body's electrolytes get out of balance ,make you feel exhausted .
Diorlyte (sp ? ) or google rehydration fluids - you can mix up your own easily .

Hope you're feeling better soon .

I also feel horrid still and I stopped vomiting on Monday morning. I seem to have come down with a cold type virus on top, but I still feel nauseous after eating and don't enjoy eating or drinking anything, which is no fun now the festivities have started in our house! I am hoping the post above is correct on 7 days as that would be Christmas Eve...

nethunsreject · 22/12/2012 20:01

Ah, I see I am far from alone in the feeling-a-bit-rubbish stakes Wink

Yeah, day 6 and my stomach feels 100% fine actually which is WONDERFUL. I am a tad knackered, but much less so than yesterday, so heading for a decent Christmas I think.

Hope everyone else does too!

I had evil flu which lasted a week just getting over that & started being sick..

Luckily only one major episode of that but tummy feeling decidedly fragile still & I'm all wobbly though that could b down to lack of food.

Urgh
