Genetics Appointment Breast Cancer

Hi,
My Mum had breast cancer at 34 and survived and is still doing well today. She had very curable uterine cancer last year and has the all clear now.

I have always wondered about my increased risk and about genetic testing. My gp has referred me and I have to fill in a questionnaire however, I am an only child, my Mum is an only child and her Mum died young in an accident so other than my Mum I have no female relations so I don't have much history.

Would it be really silly to make up an Aunty who had had cancer just to increase my chances of being able to qualify for some genetic testing or is that just daft.

It just worries me so much and I would really like to know if genes played a part in my Mums cancer and therefore whether I can get early screening. I am 35 by the way.

Sorry if this sounds in any way in bad taste or wrong...I just don't want to miss out on any testing that could be good for me long term.

Thanks!

It would be very wrong to make up an aunt. Your mum was very young for bc, so I guess you'll be seen by genetics
