dt1 fell of the bed 5 weeks ago......................................

she fell on her face, and ended up with a nose bleed and a carpet burn on her chin, her chin has'nt healed, it went from very sore, to (in the last week) very very dry, it does'nt seem to be fading at all, do you think this is too long a time to heal.

She has bouts of excema from time to time, I thought maybe the carpet burn had caused a breakout, but it now does'nt look anything like carpet burn, she has quite large flakes of skin flaking away.

Ds2 was badly skinned by ds1 last year who pulled him off a playground roundabout while it was still moving and dragged his stomach over the gravel. It was like a carpet burn in that only the top layer of skin was broken and it didn't bleed but it did weep yellow stuff for days and days and hurt him badly for several days. I thought it would never get better as even slight contact started if weeping again, but I didn't want to cover it as I thought it should be exposed to air. Anyway, it did get better eventually and has left no scarring. I am trying to say your dd's burn will heal eventually! It must be awful though, having it on her face.

Don't know if it is appropriate for children or not but Bio oil is very good for helping with healing.

I hope so, though it never weeped or bled.

Yes got some in Boots it is supposed to help with stretch marks too.
