I had it as a child and was on intal and ventolin, didn't have any attacks though I don't think, just general wheeziness etc.

Grew out of it although it came back after ds1, then seemed to go away yet again.

It's come back, I probably should have gone to the docs months ago tbh, but since this recent bug my chest is intolerably tight and wheezy, horrible cough etc. I am back on the inhalers along with anti b's.

Is this it for life then basically? I don't really understand why it goes away in the first placeConfused.

Anyone more knowledgeable able to explain?

Like you I've had asthma since childhood. Not sure if one will really grow out of it, but you do learn to manage it better. Especially the situations when it triggers an attack. That sounds like your case. You should go see your GP. Most of them have asthma nurses and she'll talk you through management. Maybe good to think about how triggered the attacks. Hope this helps.
