could he have cold/mucus and when laying down rises in the throat?
and because we dont swallow so much when asleep, it could be building up?

cod · 11/04/2006 10:47

do you think?
thanks for that idea

LIZS · 11/04/2006 10:54

Agree if he is mucousy it could catch him in the throat as he stirs and make him gag. Have you tried wedging up his mattress at the head end ?

cod · 11/04/2006 10:55

Cod my DS had this a few weeks ago. Was generally fine by day if perhaps a little lethargic and didn't have much appetite. But every night for a week he was sick, usually some time between the hours of 10/2. During the day he had no cough at all, but I heard him coughing at night. Basically there's not a huge amount you can do about it, to combat coughing you can try and give water as soon as you hear him (if he does cough), try and avoid food which contains milk after about 4 PM as milk increases mucous build-up, Carvell (don't know how to spell it) capsules on pillow do help a bit to stop coughing.

was fine then cod

VeniVidiVickiQV · 11/04/2006 16:54

agree it could be a mucousy type thing. Maybe the stomach is more relaxed at night too? Just a guess.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 11/04/2006 16:54

Where are you off to on Thursday?

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2006 16:57

nausea increases with an empty stomach..???

jangly · 11/04/2006 17:02

I think the resistance is lower at night when we are asleep. The bugs can take over a bit more.

cod · 11/04/2006 19:27
