Feeling murderous - nits

Ds came home with nits the other day. Treated her, checked the rest of the kids. All fine. She has lovely short straight fine hair so after hedrin ing her combing with a nitty gritty was easy.
I felt itchy and as I had noone to check me I combed through with a norm fine comb and conditioner. Found one live one not so I hedrined and washed with neem shampoo Now I still feel itchy. It may be psychological but I can't get the bloody nitty gritty through my exceptional thick hair to check and can't see anything in the mirror. I tried frying with the straighteners.
So what do I do now? Which is the chemical that will actually blitz rather than coat? Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Dd of course is completely clear now.

I gave up on chemicals - used plain conditioner and added few drops of tea tree and some neem oil and just wet combed with the nitty gritty. Added same oils to water spray and sprayed hair with that before school too as a preventative measure.

Nope. Even dividing it into small sections. If I try it just pulls and rips it out. I do have thick hair in both amount and strand thickness though. I hate it as I can't do anything with it. Including getting rid of nits it seems

I don't even know if I've got them. I suspect anyone reading this thread will be feeling itchy.

They do not have the exact same one, but it was like this, with more, longer teeth and a nicer handle than the 'human' ones, that does not hurt your fingers after a long time combing. Pets seem to get a better deal than children!

Oh - need to comb the conditioner through with a wide toothed comb first, then a normal one, to get all the knots out before you start the fine toothed one.

I think I may be clear for now. Just had two of my Children inspecting me. They're not old enough to be completely trust worthy on such things but with all the combing and treatment I've done I probably am imagining it. I also have some redness and as I'm sensitive to a lot of things I suspect I've reacted to
the hedrin which would make me itch too

I react to the bites if I ever catch nits from my kids. They come up in itchy bumps. You could have just been itching from the bites that the one you caught had given you before it was evicted.

2kids you were right. It seems I just still just suffering post bites
So we were clear for a bit. I combed them through and checked mine every night then Tuesday night I checked dd before bed and she had two huge ones and no eggs or smaller ones. She must have got them that day. Then I checked ds3 who she was playing with and he had one huge one and nothing else which he must have it from her who got them someone at school. I think it's the same child every time grr
So I'm not happy
And I have to treat my hair again. It's trashed. I did force the comb (with conditioner) through it last time and its just shredded it and now of course I'm feeling itchy and have to so it again. I can't risk leaving it
