The ongoing saga of DD's teeth . . . . . . [am feeling slightly panicky now] . . . . . . (Any dentists around - advice would be very helpful!!!)

One of DD's front teeth (on the bottom) has been loose for about 2-3 weeks. It finally fell out this afternoon. (She's also managed to completely miss it happening, so we have nothing to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy!!!)

The one next to it now appears to be loose as well.

Is this normal? Am starting to feel worried.

She was 5 in February. All the internet sites I can find say her teeth shouldn't be falling out until she's about 6!!!!

It is a bit earlier but quite normal. The text books state the average age based on looking at lots of kids so in some it happened earlier and some later. (I'm a dentist btw).

my dd1 started losing her teeth before she was 4. she is 6 now and has lost 5 now. dont panic. all my dd's cut their teeth early so it makes sense to me that they lose their teeth earlier as well.

Is it normal for the other front tooth to be wobbly at the same time?

Was feeling OK about it until talked to one of the other parents about it at a party last weekend - she was shocked and said that I should take her to the dentist asap.

dd lost her first teeth when she was 4.5. her adult teeth are now perfectly normal, and her baby teeth are still dropping out....she is 9

My dd lost her 2 bottom front ones at 4.6 yo and now t 5.6 yo has a further 2 bottom ones wobbling. It is early but not unheard of and I posted on his for reassurance as well

The thing is (and this probably sounds awful!!!) but don't remember how early DD's teeth came through!!!

I dont know why, but I am dreading ds teeth falling out ( I suppose because it is a phobia of mine, have nightmares about it regulary) he was also 5 in Feb, but he did'nt cut his first tooth intil he was 12 months old, and his back teeth did'nt come through til he was 3.5 years, so I am hoping I have another 12 months yet

yes dd is losing hers in twos

bottom two went within days of each other (adult teeth came through almost straight away) - top two are on the verge of falling and now bottom fangs are loose

Sounds perfectly normal. my ds's first tooth came out a month before he turned 6 and the one next to it came very quickly after.

DD is 6.5 and is one of the few in her class who hasn't lost a tooth yet. Quite a few lost their first when they were 5.

DD1 is 5.5 and has lost 2 teeth already. I wouldn't worry.

I know a couple of kids who have lost their teeth before they turned 5, early but still "normal".

While we are on the subject of teeth - you know the first adult molars that come through (without baby teeth falling out)? Is it strange that ds (7in July) has got these through, but has yet to lose any baby teeth at the front?

Oh, and don't worry the tooth fairy knows when kids have lost a tooth, even if it is lost

Am taking DD to the dentist on Wednesday, just so they can take a peek to see that everything is ok [paranoid parent emoticon].
