premature menopause advice anyone?

Hi can anyone advise me please or tell me of your experience

i started with hot flushes after the birth of my dd last Oct and had bloods taken in April time (my periods had been erratic up til then but I put it down post pregnancy. My Lh was 27.5 and fsh 27.4 they also discovered an underactive thyroid which my GP said was the cause of the irregular periods and flushes.
after starting thyroxine I did have 3 months of regular periods and occ flushes but started with night sweats and flushes again last month (no period). last test was LH 36.4 and FSH 51 the practice nurse told me I was probably post-menopause and should start HRT asap to guard against increased risk of osteoporosis and cancer. I made appt with GP. She said not to worry go away see how it goes etc. Not sure what to do but have more faith in the nurse.

My daughter in her early 40s, had erratic periods and night sweats and daytime hot flushes. Her FSH was too high , but oestragen was normal so they left it for a while, but soon after her oestragen also reduced and she was told she was perimenopausal, and a lot of trial and error with HRT, until she found one which suited her.
