dislocated shoulder

hi yesterday i fell over and my left shoulder took the brunt and it dislocated
the dr put it back in but i have been awake since four am in agony .
painkillers not touching it and we are meant to be getting a puppy but i dont think i will be right for a long time and now my dd hates me
any tips for the pain ? x

My dh dislocated his shoulder in mid-September. He only had paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain. I did question whether he should have been given something stronger to be honest. It is a very nasty injury I think. Everyone thinks you just have your shoulder put back and that's it but it's not so simple. DH couldn't drive for 7 weeks and has had an MRI to confirm internal damage. He will likely need an op at some point to stabilize the joint. I hope yours is not so bad and you have some relief from the pain. Having seen dh's discomfort, I really feel for you.
