I saw my GP today who also does a dermatology clinc at our local hospital about a red small flat spot on my cheek (can't be felt so under the skin) that has been there for a long time (poss 3 years from looking at photographs). Always dissmissed as a scar from a spot but suddenly worried that it maybe something more worrying (my father has skin cancer). He looked at it and said that it didn't look like anything to be worried about but looked at it under his dermascope and said that it all looked fine and was probably a scar. What does a dermascope do to reassure a Dr and would a red scar from a spot last years?
