Diarrhoea advice - WayTMI (sorry)

Warning. really TMI...

I have diarrhoea so bad that I've just taken my DD's last two nappies to use in my knickers. I've not made it to the loo in time 5 times. I'm breastfeeding a 4 month old and have a toddler too. It seems to be getting worse - more frequent and urgent.

DH had DD for most of today and, thank goodness, my mum has come to stay.

Any tips for getting through this?

Dehydration is your main worry. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and replace those essential salts and sugars gradually through the day. Are you able to eat ok despite the diarrhoea?

Make sure you wash your hands regularly especially when handling baby or toddler. Use your own towel and make sure the family wash their hands too.

Sorry you are going through this. If you are vomiting and unable to keep anything down and diarrhoea persists, call the out-of-hours dr.

Thanks. I haven't been eating but have been taking rehydration sachets. It's awful, especially on top of the sleep deprivation I already had. But I'm most worried about the children getting it. Hands are dry and flaky from all the washing!
