Inflamed Tendon in foot

I sprained my ankle last week and bruising has now gone, but went to doc yesterday as i have pain in heel and arch of foot. He has diagnosed tendonitis. Just said to rest it for 2 weeks and take ibuprofen. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else I can do to speed up recovery, as I have a 26 mile sponsored walk in June, and training is way behind sched. Help!

you can rub on arnica gel or take arnica tabs, another tip would be to use walking poles when you are training, this takes 33% of the weight off your legs.considder strappin gusing zinc oxide, can instruct you further if interested, and you could also buy a foot arch support but not sure how effective these are.
