My index finger seems to have forgotten how to type Hmm its the stretching out bit and pressing down that seems to be tricky, instead it wants to curl up and leave my middle finger to do all the work. It feels crampy and locked up.

I do have psoriatic arthritis and my thumb and wrist have been painful recently, I've also got raynauds, so the whole hand goes blue lots, typing is one of the provokers but why on earth is my finger going on strike? I need it to cooperate!

Sounds like trigger finger where you get nodules on the tendon and it sticks in the tendon sheath. DH has had it in a couple of fingers - one settled with injections, the other needed a very quick op

ahh, thank you CMOT, gives me something to google, I was ending up with some rather strange results! Tendonitis is a predominant feature of PsA

looking at it, it does seem that I would fall into a few risk categories for that. How irritating!

It really was easy to sort out though - the op took 10 minutes, and was three teeny stitches.

Ask your gp to refer you to a hand specialist, and they can take a general look at your hands too

That's an idea, though I'm waiting for my rheumy appointment, so it might get a bit confusing!
