Discharge - 3 year old girl - normal???

I am a childminder and don't have any girls of my own. One of my mindees (just turned 3) had dried up dark discharge on her knickers (noticed when took her to the toilet - never had before).

I just wondered if this may mean she has a slight infection or something? Anyone know?

I know she's a little run down with a cold and just had conjunctivitis (not bad though).

Any advice would be great so I can pass on to her mum.

Thanks :)

i'd mention it to the mum. dd1 gets a slight discharge when she is ill as she is prone to infections etc due to her eczema.

Thanks. Going to mention to mum as I'm sure this means something. I just know the mum usually dismisses these sorts of things but if I could give advice it may help encourage seeing a Dr.

Thanks, will let her know although she's probably noticed herself anyway. :)

Is she peeing enough? Can you get her to go on the potty helly and check to see if it is in her wee? This isnt minor and needs to be investigated. Make a note as well.

Spoke to mum and she's going to keep an eye on it. Told her I'd go to the Dr's if it was me. Her mum said she's been wiping her bottom herself recently so I reckon she's caught something that way. Anyway, up to the mum now, I've told her what I thought.

Jelly - peeing the same as usual and the colour is fine.
