Any views on which would be more effective? I have been waking every morning for the last few weeks with stiffness and pain on one side around my neck and shoulder, it gets a bit better during the day but does not go completely, and seems to be worse at night.

any ideas?

I see an osteopath for neck/shoulder pain, and she is fabulous. Massages the muscles first, as these have been compensating for underlying joint problems, then manipulates the bones.

No experience of a chiropractor, sorry!

I've seen both ,definitely recommend osteopath for shoulder .
But could just be luck in who you see rather than a difference in the profession .
