If it's winter vomiting or whatever, will washing my hands and cleaning door handles etc work? I usually catch whatever he has a day or two later, which is useless given that loads of family and friends coming on Saturday for DS2's bday :(

Oh dear, poor you. Is it projectile vomit?

The only way is zealous hygiene. Scrubbing EVERYTHING (door handles, light switches, bathroom etc etc) with bleach. Washing your hands every few minutes. Making sure your DC and DP wash hands (with hot water and soap) a lot.

Whether or not it's winter vomiting you need to warn people coming on Saturday and they won't come.

Yep. I'll let everyone know. Actually he was mainly retching and seems much better now. But my other ds has to come home from nursery cos he's ill :(

Make sure you all use individual towels/flannels after bathing/showering.

Wash hands regularly, especially before meals and after using the loo.

It's always the worst time, isn't it? Hope they are both better soon.

Thanks for the advice :) They were all better within 24 hrs and I - touch wood - didn't catch it!

I have never caught a vomiting bug off DC so far, just wash your hands a lot. And antibacterial wipe stuff. That works for me! Good luck!
