At what age did your DD/DS lose their first tooth?

DD is 5.1.

Has a loose tooth on the bottom at the front.

Over the last couple of weeks a huge gap has appeared between her two of her teeth on the bottom jaw, and on Monday she came home saying her tooth was wiggly.

Have just been to a party and a couple of the other mums seemed to think this was too young, and said I should take her to the dentist.

Is this too young? Wasn't worried about it until today - just thought it was the natural progression!!

My dds are 5.5 and 6.9. Neither of them have lost a tooth yet.
I believe 5 is the average age to loose your first...most of the girls'friends have already.

Nothing to worry about, I wouldn't do an extra dentist visit, just mention at next check if you're worried.

dd was 5.5 when she lost her first one (there's a thread I did at the time!)

3 children in her class lost their first teeth before the end of nursery class (so when they were around 4yrs 9months-11months)

DS is 6.5 and lost his first last week. I think this is quite late as most of his classmates have lost some already, one boy has lost 8!

my dd was 6 when she lost first tooth, i wonder if it makes any difference as to when they got first teeth as she didnt get one till she was one, all her friends lost there's before her, i dont know maybe i am talking rubbish

should say also that although her tooth may be loose, it still may not fall out for ages

dd's first wobbly I think was around Xmas time but it took a few months before it fell out

ds1 has just lost his first tooth at 5yrs 10mths. Most of the children in his class have already lost at least one tooth.
