Missed 3 periods but not pregnant

Just wanted to see if this had happened to anyone else. I am 38 and have now missed 3 periods, nearly 4 now. Dh has had a vasectomy and I have not been unfaithful! Been to doctors and I was told to do pregnancy test anyway as the snip is not 100% and all that but it was negative. I was on the pill for years until I had my 2 ds, one is now 10 and ds2 is 9. For 3 years I was pregnant or breastfeeding so did not have a period at all. I actually fell pregnant with ds 2 when I was still breastfeeding ds1 at 6 mths old. I stayed on the pill for another few years, then once I came off it had quite a normal cycle, now suddenly, nothing.
I am waiting for blood test results from Drs, tested for diabetes and thyroid and also to see if I am starting the menopause. They say this is very unlikely at my age, but has this happened to anyone else?

My cousin was investigated for early menopause... but eventually it turned out she was pregnant! I don't know more particulars, but she must have failed a pregnancy test or 2. She was in her 20s, though, seems more likely you've got the real thing of early menopause.

Hi, I've recently had my 36th birthday and have a 19 month old dd. Prior to be pregnant, I suffered from TERRIBLE period pains and had a period every 3.5 weeks. After giving birth, the pains vanished, (thank god!) and I continued with my normal regalar periods, still every 3.5 weeks then 4 months ago, I had an exteremly light period which lasted only 3 days. On the 2nd month the period lasted 4 days and has done so until now.

On my mother's side of the family, they all started their periods very early ie 10 yrs old, myself being 11 and started their menopause at 39!. I spoke to my gp about it and they said I was too young for the menopause, but maybe things were starting to slow down! It's worrying - let us know what your results are.

Take care!

Thanks for answering. Fimbles, I will let you know my results, but it could be a while as I had the blood test done on New Years Eve and the nurse said it could take a week to 10 days for the results. Then if I have to see a doctor, who knows how long that will take as at our surgery you have to know you will be ill at least a week in advance to get an appointment! Anyway I will let you know. Cheers.
