OMG Have I got arthritis?

Both my thumb joints are so sore and swollen,my thumbs look like my Mothers,and she is 77years old

A bit worried if it is.Cant think what else it could be.

Advice and cures please?!

cider vinegar 3 tablespoons a day, can be mixed with honey or similar to drown the taste

GP can do a blood test I believe

Feeling worried as Mother has had 2 replacemments hips,hoping this Arthritis isnt going to be a family thing

My mum has osteo-arthritis and it has affected her hands mainly - the knuckle joints in particular - she's been advised to keep her hands as active as possible. She plays the piano and thought that would be the first thing to go but happily she's been fairly stable for a couple of years now mainly because she does play. It's hereditery apparently.
Not sure if that helps but doing stretches etc surely can't harm?

Thought it might be a family thing,well my thumbs look 77yrs old and I am 42!!!!!!
