Ok, am fairly run down ATM, caught a cough/cold/sore throat virus from ds1 which turned into trachyitis (sp?) last week and then ds2 brought home a sickness bug from pre school which ds1 also came down with (but well over 48 hours later...)
I had a bout of diahorrea on thurs (sorry bit tmi)
Since Sunday I have barely been able to eat due to nausea.
When I lie down it much worse so sleep has been very patchy.
I am trying to eat...crackers, rice cakes, plain biscs but its hard as I feel so sick.
So tired, so fed up.
My question is should I just stick my fingers down my throat and make myself sick? would that get rid of the bug? if so, how? Have never done it before!
Thanks....

You can get something called Motilium 10 from the chemist. It's brilliant for nausea.

I find sipping icy cold water & sucking mints usually helps me too.

Badvoc · 19/10/2012 15:04

Thank you.
Will try that...

Hope you feel better soon.
I also had bad nausea once with labyrinthitis. I spoke to a dr over the phone & he said to try Remegel a peppermint indegestion chewy tablet. That helped a bit but Motilium 10 is brilliant. Don't make yourself dick though. It's obviously a bug you have & our dr once said that children can show worse symptoms than adults with the same bug.

Sick not dick sorry

drjohnsonscat · 19/10/2012 15:23

yes came on to say motilium. I used to get bouts of nausea quite a lot - for no reason at all. Motillium really helped.

Also probiotics to get your digestive system back to where it was.

Badvoc · 19/10/2012 15:24

Thanks both x

I had that too, it's horrible. Don't make yourself sick, I did and couldn't stop for ages, also felt like I'd burnt my throat. Motilium is great but sadly I can't take it at the moment (pregnant) so just had to eat what I could and keep hydrated.

If you can, sleep propped up on loads of pillows. It does help a bit. Get well soon.

Thank you, you are all really kind.
I have been feeling so crap - this while week has been a write off :(

If you can suck an icy pole like a lemonade one that might help.

Badvoc · 19/10/2012 15:41

Just no appetite at all....been eating bland stuff like crackers etc...
Have just taken a motillium so we will see...

How are you feeling today? Did the Motilium help?

Badvoc · 20/10/2012 12:54

Hi.
Don't think it did :(
Had a slightly better night though.
Have gone back in my GERD meds (lansoprazole) this morning and have taken a pro biotic too.
I am dressed and trying to potter about.
Still feel sick though...it comes in waves.
Thank for asking

I hope the other meds help. It's rotten feeling sick, I'd much rather have a stinking cold any day.

Maybe the bug will just run it's course & you will be better soon.

Badvoc · 20/10/2012 13:56

Yes it is.
Felt pretty low and desperate yesterday :(
If it keeps up I will go to the gp next week although I am not sure what more he can do?
I am on lansoprazole for The GERD and a pro biotic and the motillium!!

You poor thing you definitely aren't pregnant?
I found that plain salty crisps & icy cold water helped a bit.
It's horrible as lying down you just can't get comfortable. I find propping up with pillows help me sleep. Lying on my side is worse.

Could you ring the health direct for advise?

Badvoc · 20/10/2012 16:49

Hahahahahaha, only speed can get through a sash window!!
:)
I will go to go next week if no better.
Thank you so much for your replies x
