I have been newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and still trying to get my head around things, have bought blood testing machine have been self monitoring since beginning of Oct. Just can't seem to get me levels down despite low carbing, getting fasting readings of 13.9 and 18.2. Just tested 2 hours after breakfast ( porridge half water/milk, fake sugar) and now bloody 21.4.this seems of the scale compared to other peoples levels On no medication (yet). Does anyone have any advice to give, should I be really worried right now? This is a bit of a nightmare and taking over my life right now. Getting very little support from GP, well actually have not seen one about this only the nurse. I think that seems to be pretty common place though.
