Dd is having her first vaccine next week and I was wondering what side effects your Dds experienced, if any please?
I have read the leaflets etc but wondered first hand what to expect. Thank you.

Meg, having read up about it, discussed it with her and what it would would mean in the future, she decided she wanted to have it. She's in v good health generally so there was no reason to contraindicate it. I'm sure your dd will be fine.

Pterosaur · 13/10/2012 20:32

DD2 had it this week, no problems. DD1 (veteran of hpv & annual flu jabs) advised her to 'let her arm go floppy' as it hurts more if you're tense.

MegGriffin · 13/10/2012 20:38

Dd is just v nervous of the actual jab and short term side effects as she has a sickness phobia so she is worried she will be sick after.

Thank you ptosaur that will be really reassuring for her.

My DD was afraid of crying. Warn her that some girls may get very worked up about it & not to let it worry her.

Dd has told me since that she got herself in a state, matron took her aside, calmed her down and let her get it first. I'm sure they'll be very sympathetic.

Please read my comments on the HPV vaccine on the other HPV thread. I want to raise awareness about this vaccine. Thanks
