dd2 has, it seems, been ill for about 6 months on and off and tbh, I am SICK TO DEATH OF IT.

Sleepless nights, whining, off her food, EVERYTHING gets 10 x harder.

Can we not just have ONE WEEK OFF FGS!!!!??????

mil has reported that her cheeks (and bum) are bright red and she has a snotty nose and keeps sneezing.

FANTASTIC! Teething AND snot.

Can't wait for tonight.

Sympathies. Dd has been ill since Xmas and now has effing chickenpox. Hopefully when spring arrives (hahaha...some hope, was snowing here last night AGAIN) all these bugs will vanish. Hope tonight is OK for you.....

Spongebob · 23/03/2006 15:00

I know how you feel.....DS had a bug, then a cold, then a throat infection, then flu, which turned into a chest infection....and after all this has been left with a urinary tract infection....poor little bugger. Oh and he's teething. Who would be a Mum?

Bozza · 23/03/2006 15:02

DD is like this - think they all are. I am particuarly p'ed off though because she has just given me her latest cold in time for my birthday.

beansprout · 23/03/2006 15:03

Same here AND I have the Childminder asking me "why do you think he gets so many colds? Do you take him out without enough clothes on?" etc etc

Yeah, all the time, just for the craic!! FFS!!

oliveoil · 23/03/2006 15:03

she is just recovering from chicken pox, has the itching at the mo, grrrrrreat.

Chest infections etc etc, antibiotics.

Dh and I haven't been out in months and are always snapping at each other as we are both sick to the back teeth of it.

Evenings are a JOKE, no time to do anything.

dd1 keeps bringing coughs and colds home from nursery.
This time dd2 has caught her sisters cold really badly. As her sinuses are blocked dd2 cannot sleep, so she wont let me either. The night before last dd2 spent until 4am singing loudly and yelling mummmyyy so I could show her my appreciation....
Last ngiht she spent stripping naked and then yelling mummmyyyy, I must have re-dressed her a million times, she finally fell asleep at 2am.

I am currently training her to yell dadeeee

alexsmum · 23/03/2006 15:07

we are in the exact same position.
ds was in hospital for 24 hours with croup before christmas.was ill all over christmas and since then hasn't been well. we've colds, 3 days in hosp on a drip with gastroenteritis,an ear infection etc etc.
he seems better this week, but have had ds1 off with some grotty bug.

feel like screaming!

Repeat after me ladies:

"IT'S GOOD FOR THEIR IMMUNE SYSTEMS. IT'S GOOD FOR THEIR IMMUNE SYSTEMS"

Now, where did I put that gin.....Grin.

Bozza · 23/03/2006 15:14

beansprout if he goes to a childminder it is pretty obvious where all the colds are coming from I would have though. Wink

I have one at school and childminder and one at nursery so plenty of places to pick up bugs. And I am feeling pretty sorry for myself atm - face is really flushed (but everyone says it is warm in here today) but then why am I also shivering?

Is anyone else like me - start to feel a bit more sympathy for the kids once you catch it yourself? Blush

expatinscotland · 23/03/2006 15:17

how is good for their immune systems? i'm still trying to figure out. from a scientific standpoint, i mean.

any of the residents scientists care to explain?

cuz i never went to day nursery until school, but i didn't catch cold after cold after cold after bug after bug after bug just because i wasn't exposed to much before i was about 5.

oliveoil · 23/03/2006 15:20

I blame dd1. Since she started playgroup in September, it has been downhill on the illness front.

Diddly squat before then. All those disease ridden brats infecting my angels.

Im a sahm but dd has still come down with the v&d bug and cold after cold... shes just starting to loose her voice due to anther cold... and 'snap', shes getting her back molars though also...

So yep deffinately sympathise..... I agree with picnikel, hopefully by spring the bugs and colds will vanish....

Here's to hoping.....

picnikel · 23/03/2006 15:28

Expat - I think there have been a couple of studies suggesting that exposure to lots of viruses early might reduce the risk of childhood leukaemia. I don't think it's proven mind you.
