Termination 8 weeks ago, still bleeding

I had a termination (the pill rather than surgical) 8 weeks ago, and I went straight onto microgynon.
The nurse told me the bleeding would stop near enough straight away

Its 8 weeks later and Ive bled heavily every day since. Some days its really heavy, (TMI) Ive had to change clothes and underwear a few times a day on occasions. Other days its light

Finally went back to the family planning clinic today and they have given me a number of a nurse Im to ring tomorrow. But she said it sounds worrying

Anyone had a similiar experince? Or may know whats up with me?

P.S I am a regular but am changing my name to save any "why did you have an abortion then?" questions

I'm not sure if it was me you gave advice to but I just wanted to say that I'm having the medical termination which I took the first pill for today. I was set against this but given my dates this was the quickest option. I would have had to wait over 2 weeks for the surgical method and I've already waited what feels like too long. Plus I'd have to travel nearly 100 miles to have it done and that just wasn't feasible. My clinic has given me contact numbers for any sort of questions - I'd call yours and see if they'll see you again. Mine said they'd see me the same day if I had problems.

Like you I know this is the right decision for me yet I'm dreading the physical aspects. But I was so sick with morning sickness and off work that there was no way I could have waited 2 further weeks. I've also got no plans to go back to work until middle of next week which makes me seem wimpish in comparison.

Had antiobiotics, the bleeding stopped the next day and has been fine since the weekend. The doctor said there is no need for a D&C now so thats a relief

Got to go back for a scan next week just to double check

Just wanted to add as I have had similar, had to have medicaltermination four weeks ago by pill due to major probs with baba and had similar probs with lots of postpartum pain ( like period pain but worse) and still bleeding. three days into two sets of antibiotics ( metranizadole anf cefradine) still bleeding and feel like crap. Doc did say about D and C poss, apparently it quite common to have "stuff" left inside you even if they think the foetus and placenta was intact at the time.If want to talk stillhavingnightmares im here , can totally understand why you called yourself that. Bless you and hope you feel a lot better (physically if not emotionaly yet) xx

hope ur ok, had a termination last yr but bleeding stopped fairly soon.

I had a similar experience abs I’m now ttc. Did you ever ttc after your experience ? I’m worried I have effected my fertility
