Uneven leg ceases....should I worry?

A recent visit from the health visitor showed that my dd has uneven leg creases. She is 11 months old and is very mobile crawing/climbing and nearly walking. I visited the doc and he said to come back in 4 weeks, which I did. He said that they are still uneven and has refered us to paediatrics, I am waiting for the appointment. Sometimes I look at her legs and they are even and I look again anothertime and they are uneven, I am trying not to worry, but cant help it. The Doc said over 50% of cases like this end up nothing at all.

Its one of the signs of a problem with the hips isnt it?

Yes it is a hips thing. DD has chubby legs, one more than the other!!!

my dd1 had this diagnosed at 9 weeks, she was in a splint for the first year and then had an operation and plaster for six weeks and another operation a year later for the pin etc to be removed she is now 22 and fine

splints are inconvenient but they quickly get used to them

Hi,
my dts were screened for their hips, one had assymetrical creases. Tbh I think it is very hard to tell, sometimes his looked normal, then sometimes all lopsided. Both were scanned anyway since they were breech. Nothing came of it, though it was a very worrying time. The chances are that your dd will be fine. I don't know if a scan would help your dd? In our case it proved conclusively that there was not a problem.

ds also had xrays at our request and did have a slight problem but no treatment
