I'm 24 and have suffered with random pains in my joints since being 18. I can go for months with no pain then wake up one morning with one of my joints apsoluty killing. It's usually my shoulder, hip or back. The pains are worse in the morning and generally feel better a the days go on. Last week I woke in agony, both my hips and shoulder. I got taken to the docs who has tested for RA. Over the next few days the pain went through my body into my hand, feet and knees. My test have come back normal and the pains have nearly gone after taking some anti inflamatories the doc gave me. I'm frustrated because I don't no what it is that's causing it and the pains just appear overnight then linger for a few weeks then disappear for months. Anyone any ideas?

You need to go back to the doctors and ask for a diagnosis and if they can't provide one, then you need a referral to someone who can give you a name for what is happening to your body, and a plan of how to treat or manage it.

It could be any number of things, but you need to get it sorted, take someone with you if you are not getting the right response from the GP, and if that doesn't work then change GPs,

good luck.

Do you get any other symptoms with it? Exhaustion, headaches etc?

Thanks for responses. Yes I'm extremely tired all the time some mornings it can take me over an hour to get up as my body feels that drained. I do suffer from headaches but not all the time. I have stomach pains in my lower stomach which is worse in a morning when my bladders full but I've had a scan on my womb an kidneys and they were all fine

I am totally biased here but those symptoms could point to chronic fatigue (what used to be called ME), I am awaiting official diagnosis of it myself. Will come back to this tomorrow as am in a lot of pain tonight, might be worth a google though.

I suffered like that for many years. Found out in the end I have gluten intolerance that made my body's immune system attack my joints, bladder, guts and skin.

Aching joints and tiredness suggest some sort of immune response is happening.
