DS's 2nd teeth coming through but baby teeth still there - does it matter?

DS is 5.1. He has had some wobbly teeth for 2/3 months now but none have dropped out. However behind his baby teeth he has one tooth fully through and a few mm high and one cutting through. These are at the front bottom. Also I have noticed that his baby teeth have spread and got gaps between them - presumably being pushed about by his second teeth.

Is this a problem? Will his teeth grow straight despite the baby teeth being in the way? Should we get the baby teeth removed or just leave it? Unfortunately this has happened just after his dental check up which was in February.

get checked out, you don't want positioning to be affected. my sister had this - dentist said leave it, but one of her second teeth stopped growing and didn't come through until baby tooth was removed age 16 (by a more competent dentist!!)

my friends ds at 5 had her second teethe coming through while first teeth still in place.
she ended up having two sets(very strange looking, one set behind the other)
they seem to be growing 'ok' now but i personally would check out

I took my dd to see the dentist as she has 2 big teeth through but they're not straight because she's only lost 2 baby teeth and could do with losing 2 more to let the big ones through properly.

Dentist said she would leave them, that they'd look untidy for a while, but as and when she loses other teeth and as her jaw grows, they may straighten. If not, they wouldn't consider a brace till she's 12.

Hmm I think DS would be OK if he just lost the 2 front baby teeth because they have spread so there are gaps between those front two and the next ones round.

Actually I was surprised at how huge they are in comparison with his milk teeth.

Having gaps between baby teeeth is good for when the new and bigger teeth grow in it's place.
I had that problem, new teeth growing before baby teeth fell out and left it .. my teeth are fine.
Get them checked out if you are worrying though .. just to make sure.

The gaps have only opened up recently, ie in the last few months, so it looks like the new teeth have forced it IYSWIM.

There have been a few other threads like this including one from me about ds. His bottom ones appeared long before the baby ones were wobbly but they fell out eventually, by which time the second ones were almost fully there, and then these moved forward into position and are straight. That was 18 months ago and we're still waiting to loose the top ones.
