Well, my ds has now been diagnosed with Pityriasis Rosea. Nothing we can do for it, just calamine lotion for the itching. Poor ole thing. He has just had a week off school, as the dr said last week it was Chicken Pox. I did point out that this would be the 2nd time of getting chicken pox. His teachers must think I am a mad mother, never mind. He seems quite happy that his itchy rash now has a name, and one that he cant pronounce. LOL
Has anyone elses child ever had this? Ds is seven.

My ds had this - he did not get any itching with his though, but it took nigh on 2 months to clear completely.
The teachers did not believe he should have been at schol, it took us ages to prove ds was not contagious etc...
It is just the way some kids react to certain viruses I think.
DS is prone to skin flare ups so it all fits.
I hope ds is ok soon x

Thanks Piffle....The dr gave us some info to take to the school, as if to prove that he is ok to go LOL......He is just really conscious of the rash. Doesnt want to get ready for PE or anything. The DR did warn us it could take several weeks to clear up though. Never mind.
Thanks for your comments.

DD3 has this at the moment, has had it for two months and is just beginning to go, it has been strange to watch it move away from her chest, back and stomach to migrate down her arms. DD did say she got some funny looks during her swimming lessons tho!
