Hi all...been on a health kick which was going well, i've lost half a stone, but yesterday I bent down to talk to my friends toddler and felt this pressure in my knee and when I stood there was an almighty crack...now i'm terrified that I have injured myself in a dreadful fashion. My knee its now quite sore etc. I did think I trusted myself a bit at zings the other night to...what should I do. I've been taking ibuprofen and icing it. Well it cure in a few days? Will I have to try class with less lunges etc. help :(

I have had this problem too, it affected me for the first few months of taking zumba up. I take my shoes off when I zumba as wearing trainers with grip is NO GOOD for twisting actions-the knee twists but the foot sticks, causing injury.
Zumba instructors wear special dance shoes (you can get for cheap enough-£20 in a good sale) or, use shoes which have little or no grip, or some put duct tape around their shoes - not too tight to avoid cutting off blood supply to feet! -to create a smooth surface on which to twist

Ibuprofen, ice, rest, and raise it. Well done for your success so far!

Thanks! I only started the zumba the other well so maybe once my knee is better I'll stick to aerobic for a but and see how I go! Have been able to walk today so well maybe take a few days of then start swimming and build up again. Thanks glad to know I wasn't the only one
