Toddler sickness nightly but no bug?

DS 18 mo has been sick 3 times at night this week, once a night about 11pm then fine rest of night and bouncy happy boy next morning
Continued to send him to nursery thinking was one off from bouncing round his cot but tonight been really sick all over cot Sad
I don't know what it can be, is this a bug, but then why only at night?
Is this a random toddler bug?
Thanks

For us this was the first manifestation of an ear infection...

My dd2 had this last year. She was sick three nights in a row without being sick in the day - then she was fine for a few days then a few more nights of sickness.

I asked the GP and she said it was normal for a toddler tummy bug to be like this and to bring her in if it went on for more than 2 weeks.

She wasn't worried about dd as she was eating and drinking normally in the day and only vomiting once a night so no risk of dehydration.

Hmmm thanks all
Another big sick last night followed by jack all zzzzz but chipper all day so fingers crossed for a better night...
He has previous for ear infections so won't rule that out either Hmm
Thank you

We had this with ds when he was about the same age

Took him to gp

And she seemed to think it was giving him milk before bedtime and him being unable
To fully digest it properly

So we stopped night time warm milk and gave juice and no more sickness

Possibly chicken pox about to come out? Usually they feel bad before or maybe just a virus?
