MMR with egg allergy

Hello all,

Not sure whether this should be posted here or on allergy section, but here goes....

My son is 10 months old and just been diagnosed with milk and egg allergy. Docs have recommended MMR in hospital. Even before we knew about the egg allergy I was hoping to delay MMR and/or get the single vaccines (although I gather only 2 single vaccines produced now :( ) so I am currently weighing up options.

My son had a severe exematous reaction to first set of jabs at 2 months, and although the docs want to monitor the MMR in hospital when they give it, I'm concerned that the reaction will most probably be delayed and he will be suffering days after for a long time.

Has anyone else got any experiences with MMR and egg allergies? What were the reactions like? Did you delay or avoid altogether?

Advice appreciated :)

Ds is allergic to eggs and like your dr recommends had to go to hospital to have has MMR for monitoring. He suffered no ill effects at all and we were allowed to leave after 2 or 3 hours. There were no delayed effects either for my ds.

The monitoring in hospital is for acute reactions, these are very rare but more common in people with egg alergies. The reason for doing it in hoslital is that they can give treatment for a reaction in seconds.
