Period every 2 weeks

I have a 5 month old ds2 and am exclusively breastfeeding.

Lochia stopped after 11 weeks, had three weeks off then my first period at 15 weeks post-partum. Ever since then my cycles have been anything between 8 days and 13 days long. I get very tired/dizzy the days leading up to my period. Have had a blood test to check my iron levels as they were very low after a post-partum haemmorage. Going to gp tomorrow for results and also to ask again why my cycles are so short (saw different one at last appointment who said it was due to breastfeeding). Pre-pregnancy they were long (40-50 days). After my first dc was born I didn't get my period for 6 months and then nothing for months.

What could be causing it? Fibroid? Endemetriosis? Would I be unreasonable to ask for a referral to a gynae?

No, you would not be unreasonable to ask for that at all. My guess is that it's hormonal madness given that your periods are coming back so early. Is your baby sleeping through the night? It's not sustainable though, by the sounds of it, so you need the gp to refer you for sure. Poor you. I wouldn't be able to cope with that at all.

YANBU - ask for a referral. It's having a massive effect on you if you are tired and dizzy for several days every week or two. Don't let this gp fob you off, it needs serious investigation.
