It's agonising! Will go to dr tomorrow, but need to get through today! Have so far taken ibuprofen and codeine! Not made any difference at all! I think my head may blow up :(( any suggestions??

You could try lying on a hot water bottle on a pillow. Put a tea towel or sheet over the top sp it's not too hot. The warmth will help with the pain.

Thanks tabbycat Smile hadn't thought of that

I read it once in a leaflet in the Drs surgery. My son got lots of eat infections when he was little & I remember him crying so much in pain. Try & get the strongest pain killers that you can get over the counter with codeine as that will help with the pain. I don't think putting warm olive oil down it would help incase there's an infection. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks tabbycat. My boys used to suffer with perforated eardrums and I never knew that. I've taken ibuprofen and codeine but just not touching it. I've got some tramadol on standby but haven't taken any yet. I've tried the oil but hasn't helped yet, although tricky to do to yourself Sad it's the most horrendous pain!

Did you get looked at by a Dr? Hope the pain has settled down for you.
