Has anyone ever experienced rapid heartbeat using this and did it persist? Just started today and had two episodes quite alarming!

I have been taking it for years and have never had that. Are they building you dose up slowly. Might be a bit late now but could you call you consultant.

Started on one tab a day f for s week them two for a week etc.assuming for 2g a day. It's didn't happen again today so will see how tomorrow morning goes. Google seems to suggest it could be a dehydration thing.I didn't drink much water after taking tab them went for a swim.it happened when I came out of the pool.quite alarming lasted about ten minutes.

DH has been on it for years for his PsA, I've just asked him and he said he has never felt like that on it.

Speak to your consultant if you can.

Its been about 10 years since DH took sulfasalazine (for PsA) and I remember him complaining about the heart racing (and the night sweats) but that was because they put him on too high a dose and those symptoms disappeared when the started him off on a load dose and built it up slowly. But looks like are on a low dose already.

Hope you are okay now?

redlac · 06/09/2012 12:53

Oh and it does work - it has essentially halted DH's PsA in its tracks for the last 10 years however I have a feeling that it is raising its head again with the amount of pain he seems to be in now

denialandpanic · 06/09/2012 16:13

I'm glad people find it works. Ok today so fingers crossed. Thank you :) I didn't swim this morning will see what happens tomorrow.
