Omeprazole for reflux

I have been on the max dose of celebrex (NSAID) for 3 years now. It's helping my rheumatoid arthritis but also giving me terrible acid reflux. I go through periods of vomiting too. I'm on 20mg omeprazole (one tablet in the morning) which I know is the standard dose but I'm wondering if adding another tablet would help. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi,

I have 2 lanzoprazoles plus 4 Domperidones a day for reflux, so I believe there are other things that you could try to help. The Domp' move food through the system quicker and reduce the actual reflux and sickness so it could be worth asking your Dr about them?

Thanks, think I will make an appointment. I have zantac which helped a bit, so maybe I can take that with omep?

You can take the Zantac with omeprazole, no problems.
You should see your GP and ask about H pylori testing and increasing the dose of your omeprazole.

Incidentally, if you're not getting the Zantac on prescription, generic ranitidine is much cheaper.
