Weight gain after colonoscopy!!!

Im looking for some advice. I had a colonoscopy today because of severe abdominal pain and cramping. I took the meds yesterday as instructed and as expected was " cleared out" completely. I had the procedure this morning and have been taking it easy for the day. I just hopped up on scales thinking that I surely would have lost (temporarily) a few pounds, but I was shocked to see that I have gained 4 lbs!!! I am so shocked!!! My tummy is still quite bloated since the procedure but surely after fasting for 24hrs and from "cleansing" of colon I would have lost not gained weight. ???

Maybe its wind if you look bloated? I havent eaten since wednesday after abdominal surgery and my belly is huge.

Could your body be holding onto water after the fasting and the colon cleanse?

How are you feeling today?

Were you on a low residue diet before the procedure? That might account for weight gain. Also wind is very common.

Thanks for your replies. I think it must have been my body holding onto fluid as I seem to be almost back to normal today. Still drinking lots water so think that has helped.
