Do I keep dd1 off school the rest of the week? (asthma related)

she has a chest infection, just got anti biotics from the GP. She had an attack earlier today (i forgot to pick her inhalor up for mieow, and i had to dd2 to SALT, so mieow had to dash to dd1 to get her spare inhalor). We have been increasing her brown/blue inhalors anyway to try and ease the symptons. she is having quite a bit of blue whilst waiting for the increase in brown to help. plus the anti-biotics, arent most schools funny about giving them?

I dont want to risk sending her in whilst she is like this, but what would yu do? (parents of astmatics and asthmatics themselves please help).

How many times a day has she got to have the anti biotics ?

jalopy · 15/03/2006 17:45

I think I would keep her home for at least the next 24 hours so that more of her antibiotics are on board and she is more settled on her inhalers.

keep her at home.
She's got what I've got by the sounds of it.

3x a day for anti biotics. i am not about friday as am doing an escorted visit out. mieow says she will watch dd1+2, she is well practised in asthma things anyway, so i know dd1 will be fine. i have been called before to collectt dd1 when she is coughing badly as she then starts to wheeze, tho not at this school.

I'd keep her at home misdee. better that she gets over it properly. (am an asthmatic and had loads of chest infections as a child. now on a combination inhaler - combining elements of the blue and the brown ones - which has been brilliant).
how are you yorkiegirl?

she is going to drive me mad tho isnt she?

she has missed loads of school since xmas, i dont think she has managed a full week this term. i will call the school in the morning and see if i can pick up some worksheets plus her weekend homework.
