Hi, any help, empathy, advice all gratefully received!.
Really am at my end with this. Only way i can type this is with ice on my back. Have had constant daily mid-back pain past 6 wks now, agony in constant tears and having detrimental effect on my life as cannot do a thing. Feel like my whole life is falling down around me.
The GP and Hospital cannot agree, one saying referral to Rheumatologist, other Orthapedic.
Am trying Chiropractitioner out of sheer desperation but costing small fortune.
Had MRI Scan last yr, found 2 slipped discs (had v painful sciatica). This is different in that all pain in mid-back.
If anyone else has experience of this please reply, scared will be taken away in a straight jacket any day soon!!.

Oh I am so sorry for you, it's awful. I had 20 weeks of back pain in each of my pregnancies and it is so miserable. I spent a fortune on chiro and on deep freeze pain relief gel/ ice packs etc.

Have you got any pain relief, e.f., ibuprofen or diclofenac? I generally find them the best. Failing that, co-dydramol or similar if it's keeping you awake at night.

Sorry no advice but sympathetic Wine

Oh wow!, do not know how you stuck it for 20wks!!. That really is cruel. Am really at a loss, tried all pain-relief. Think could do with shot morphine at this stage!.
Thanks for your sympathy and support, much appreciated.

hello, as a fellow back sufferer you have my sincere empathy its really not nice. i've never had a diagnosis for mine despite suffering since 1998. touch wood its not too bad at the min tho take diclofenac as a matter of course now 3x a day.
is your back in spasm? mine goes into spasm on occassion and the pain is really bad and sends it down my legs too. the doctor prescribes diazepam when it does this alongside the diclofenac and also strong co codamol's.
other things i've tried are heat bags in the small of my back and on my legs when they're driving me nuts.
i've found that the "attacks" are getting longer for me, the last bad bout lasted a good 8 weeks :(
i'd go back to the docs if i were you and ask for diclofenac (if your not already on it) diazepam and if you can stomach them co codamol's. (i couldn't take the co cod's had to get lower strength they made me feel so ill!)
